MSMPA is an organization comprised of county Sheriff's Mounted Posse units throughout the state.

Overview

The Minnesota Sheriff's Mounted Posse Association is dedicated to furthering the reach and effectiveness of Sheriff's Mounted Posse units across Minnesota.

 

Purpose

To promote the general welfare, by assisting, organizing, promoting, and aiding duly constitutional sheriff's departments of the State of Minnesota when called upon to do so and to afford all persons similarly interested a means of unified action for the formation, operation, and management of said mounted posses for the aid of sheriff's departments in the State of Minnesota. 

To afford all agencies of Government of the State, County, and City levels a means of activating a program of cooperation to the end that the public shall be given the highest standard of protection and that the sheriffs of the various counties have an organized body of trained personnel called upon for aid when the need arises. 

 

To foster and aid in efficient law enforcement and to engender in the general public a sense of cooperation with law enforcement agencies. 

Many counties in the association include Crow Wing County, Benton County, Goodhue County, Hennepin County, LeSueur County, Nicollet County, Scott County, Sibley County, Steele County, Waseca County, and Winona County.

** Minnesota State Mounted Posse Association holds Quarterly meetings and would like to invite you to attend. Meetings are in person and via Google Meets online. Please contact MSMPA Publications for more information on becoming a member and meeting details. **

The MSMPA is available to assist anywhere in Minnesota. However, the county Sheriff of the inquiring county must directly request this cooperation from the Sheriff of each posse involved.
So if you want to see the Mounted Posse in your county, contact your local Sheriff's office!

Each County Posse must pay Membership Dues to stay active within the MSMPA, before January 31st of the current year. Click Here for the Membership Form to be returned with dues. 

Live each day with honesty and courage. Take pride in your work. Always do your best. Stay curious. Study hard, learn all you can. Do what has to be done and finish what you start. Be tough, but fair. When you make a promise, keep it. Be clean in thought, word, deed, and dress. Practice tolerance and understanding of others. Be willing to stand up for what's right. Be an excellent steward of the land and it's animals
